StatoilHydro has found gas with the deepwater exploration well 6706/12-1 on the Snefrid South prospect near the Luva discovery in the Norwegian Sea – with Snefrid and Luva to form a joint development.
The exploration well lies in Production Licence 218 (PL218) 290km west of Sandnessjøen.
The discovery is estimated to contain around 141.2 Bcf (4 Bcm) of recoverable gas.
